Appearence ~
Haven is rather tall for her age. At 5’6 with a 9 size shoe, she’s one of those girls that you would think could find a career in modeling, if it just wasn’t so hard to fit her foot in a size 7 stiletto heel. She has slightly curly blonde hair, with natural highlights. While most teenagers prefer to dye their hair as they go through ‘special stages’, Haven likes her hair the way it is. She thinks dyeing her hair would change her, and that just doesn’t seem too appealing.
Because of her height, it would be hard to say Haven was fat. But then again, she’s not skinny either. She’s 121 lbs, what she thinks is perfectly healthy. Her facial features aren’t too bad too look at, either. Her chin comes down to a gentle curve, not exactly oval but not exactly pointed.
Her complexion is white, but with all the time she spends out in the archery ring or swimming, it is now a light golden tan. Her body has an athletic build to it, her muscles toned after months of archery and running.
Her eyes are a light brown, strangely taking after her father's wide, doe-like eyes instead of the normal gray. She has those old-school glasses, the kind that her dad would have probably worn back in middle school. She usually wears them, though she does have contacts, but only puts them in when she has time in the morning.
Her style of clothing is rather on the safe side, though you'll sometimes catch her in flowery tank tops if the weather calls for it. She loves colorful things and big earings. When she was younger she was given a silver chain necklace with a little charm that has a Greek symbol on it that she has yet to decode.
Personality ~
Haven, along with her ADHD and dyslexia, has OCD, which is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. If you see her doing odd things, when she only thinks no one is watching her, such as doing things over, checking the locks on the stable doors after she’s been there, and things of that like, please don’t comment on it. She finds herself easily embarrassed and her cheeks turn a rosy red to show it.
She was never really a social butterfly, finding it hard to relate to people her age. Even at a young age, she was more mature then her youthful counterparts, finding it odd when a kid would yell something random out only to get attention. She does enjoy when getting attention, though when the limelight shines on her, she doesn’t know how to respond.
Haven gets angry VERY fast. She’s impatient, and when under stress, can become very bossy. Though she has her talk-a-mile-an-hour moments, she hates, hates, HATES when someone won’t shut up. She’ll stand there nodding and smiling, but as she drums her fingers and her features become cold and hateful, she is just waiting for the moment she can slip away.
She enjoys being around animals, though has a phobia of birds. There's no reason, they just freak her out. The one exception are owls. It may be because their her mother's sacred animals or that they come off as wise and serene.
Haven has never had a boyfriend, but that's just because she finds no use for them. Maybe it's also because she doesn't how to act around them. She gets flustered and to much of her horror, starts stuttering.
As all of Athena's children are, Haven is intelligible and strategic, though is more hesitant to share her thoughts. She's intrigued by different languages, so she currently has several books on different languages, including Greek and Spanish.
History ~
How Jimmy the cable man could get a goddess like Athena, nobody knows. Living in an apartment in upstate New York, he went to college for a physics degree, but after finishing college, physics didn’t sound all too great anymore. Getting a job at the local cabling business, he found out that he enjoyed his job and life, even if he didn’t have a girlfriend. That all soon changed when one fateful afternoon, he took his lunch break at a sandwich shop and met a beautiful young woman standing in front of him in line. She told the cashier, after looking her purse, that she had forgotten her wallet at home. Jimmy, intrigued by the exotic vibe that flowed off of her, paid for her. She insisted that she repaid him somehow, and Jimmy said, “Well, you could always come sit with me.” She did, and he gathered that her name was Athena and she was an out of town, fresh-out-of-college student. They both had the same interests, and then they started meeting. Things went like this for about a year and Athena told Jimmy that she was in fact, the Athena. Jimmy thought she was crazy, but after days of consistent talking to’s, he believed her.
Haven then came into the picture. At around 5 years old, Haven would start crying in the middle of the night, screaming about monsters coming after her. Athena realized that she possibly put her daughter in danger and left. Jimmy made sure he took good care of Haven, though he couldn’t help but feel angry towards Athena. While he was left consoling their crying daughter, she was off playing goddess.
At 13, Haven had her first experience with a monster. Granted, she had seen monsters before, but now she actually had to deal with one. She was walking home from school, when she heard a yapping of sorts coming from a dark alley. You’d think that because she was a daughter of Athena, she would be smart enough to know not to go down the mysterious alley, but when she saw the shivering puppy hiding behind a pile of rubble, Haven instantly knew she had to save it. As she got closer, the puppy stopped shivering and looked up at her. When she knelt down to retrieve it, the puppy growled and leaped out at her. Was she amazed when the thing landed on her; it was in fact, not a puppy. It was a monster of some sort.
It’s going to sound so cliché when I say that a boy came running to her rescue. Okay, maybe not so cliché when I say a boy came trotting to her rescue. He threw something at the monster and it immediately fell withering to the ground.
Later learning that the boy’s name was Gale and that he was a satyr, she discovered her full history and moved to Camp Half-Blood a week later.
Athena was quick to claim Haven; she only had to stay in the Hermes cabin for a few days before the glowing owl symbol appeared over her head.
